Studio 1:1

Studio 1:1 is a participatory installation created for the exhibition Everything We've Learned So Far at Liebling Haus (Tel Aviv, 2025).

In the exhibition space, tables, two chairs, and a surrounding array of material-based actions were arranged. Throughout the duration of the installation, I held one-on-one sessions in the space, where I invited people to make with me.

Through the sessions I explored the way in which intentions, desires, and modes of action can be articulated together with other people in the moment, what conditions are required to create together, and how intuitive actions consolidate into shared knowledge.

20 sessions were held over the course of a month
Prior to each session, I invited participants to imagine the materials they wished to work with. When we met, we laid out the materials each of us had brought on the tables and discussed them
Through collaborative processes, the sessions explored the tension between individuality and sociability in creative making.

Each session began with a choice of materials to work with and continued as collaborative work around a single table. During the sessions we improvised, played, and invented through interacting with materials and exploring their possibilities. We shared what we knew and expanded our abilities together. When time was up, we left behind traces in the space of what was made possible and what was not.

Michal and I worked on structure and balance, using candles and metal leftovers
The small pieces created in each session found their place in the exhibition space and became part of an archive of material possibilities
